Thank you Starbucks for just a little more sunshine in the morning. My day does not begin without coffee. I've tried to ween myself, but I was beyond unproductive on those days, at least until 11:00 AM, when I was finally mentally awake (but with a pounding headache). Since returning from a recent vacation in England, I have traded in my standard Macchiatos for Americanos, which finally give me that flavor that I've been looking for (similar to the smell of coffee - which is sooo intoxicating to me). Not to mention the money I'm saving.
Occasionally I read the cup, often looking for the one pictured here. A few years ago, I did a half marathon while fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so this one is especially interesting to me. Well, this morning, I did not find #259, but I did come across one that I found engaging. #271:
The law, for all its failings, has a noble goal
- to make the little bit of life that people can actually control more
just. We can't end disease or natural disasters, but we can devise
rules for our dealings with one another that fairly weigh the rights and the
needs of everyone, and which, therefore, reflect our best vision of
ourselves.

So thank you again to Starbucks, for giving me that boost I need in the morning, and for these little "deep thoughts". They're just what I need to get my mind going.
